Who you're dealing with

V3KTR is run by Patrick John Martin (ABN 77 516 147 302), a sole trader based in the Australian Capital Territory, Australia, trading under the registered business name V3KTR2173. In these terms, “we”, “us” and “V3KTR” mean that business, and “you” means you.

It’s one person, not a company — we’d rather say that plainly here than have you work it out later. You can reach us any time at [email protected].

What V3KTR is

V3KTR is a browser-based image-FX compositor. It runs on your device, in your browser, on your own GPU. We host the app and serve updates; your images and your work stay on your machine. Using the site or the app means you accept these terms.

You need to be old enough to enter a contract to buy a licence. If you’re under 18, use the free tier.

Your images are yours

You keep all rights to the images you bring in and everything you make with V3KTR. We claim nothing over your input or your output, we don’t licence it, and we never see it — processing happens entirely on your device. Nothing you make here trains anything.

You’re responsible for having the rights to the images you use, and for what you make with them.

What we own

We keep all rights in V3KTR itself — the app, its code, the effect implementations and shaders, the interface, the name and the branding. Your licence lets you use it. It doesn’t transfer any of that to you.

V3KTR includes third-party open-source components, which are covered by their own licences and credited on our Acknowledgements page.

The free tier

The free tier is the full app with whole FX families free — currently Adjust and Colour — plus a selection of effects from every other family, and every feature: generating, masking, motion, and full-resolution export with no watermark. No time limit, no account needed.

It’s free, so we may change what’s in it over time. We won’t use it as a bait-and-switch: if we ever reduce it, we’ll say so on the feed rather than quietly shrinking it.

Paid licences

A purchase gives you a personal, worldwide, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the full FX library in V3KTR, for as long as we serve the app (see If V3KTR winds down below). One Individual licence is for one person. Studio licences are per seat, and a seat can be reassigned between people as your team changes — just not shared simultaneously.

It’s a one-time purchase: no subscription, no recurring charge, and not paying again doesn’t switch anything off. An optional renewal extends your access to effects added after your purchase window. Skipping it doesn’t take anything away from you.

What you’re buying is a right to use the app while we serve it — licensed rather than sold. We say it that way because a browser-based product served by one person can’t honestly promise “forever”, and we’d rather be straight with you than use a word we can’t stand behind.

Buying through Polar

Purchases are processed by Polar, our merchant of record. That means you buy from Polar, Polar handles payment and any tax, and your right to use V3KTR comes from us under these terms. These terms are the supplier agreement for anything you buy through Polar for V3KTR.

Polar has its own terms covering the payment itself. If theirs and ours ever conflict about the payment, theirs govern the payment; ours govern your use of V3KTR.

Accounts

Paid use needs an account (email sign-in) so we can attach your licence and sync your saved Looks. Keep your login to yourself — you’re responsible for what happens under your account. Tell us promptly if you think someone else has access.

You can ask us to delete your account at any time. See Privacy for what that does to your data.

Fair use

Don’t:

• try to bypass licensing, or share a licence beyond what it covers;
• redistribute, resell or reverse-engineer the app;
• attack the service or the people using it;
• use it to break the law.

That’s the whole list.

If you break these terms

If you seriously or repeatedly breach the section above, we may suspend or cancel your licence. Before we do, we’ll tell you what the problem is and give you a reasonable chance to fix it — unless the breach is deliberate, or waiting would cause real harm.

If we cancel a paid licence for breach, you don’t get a refund. If we cancel it for any other reason, you do — pro-rata where that makes sense. You can stop using V3KTR whenever you like.

If V3KTR winds down

This is the fair question to ask about a one-time purchase from a small operation, so here’s a real answer rather than silence.

If we decide to stop running V3KTR, we’ll give you at least 90 days’ notice by email and on the site, and we’ll keep the app available for that whole period so you can finish what you’re working on and export it. Your images and looks are on your machine, not locked in our servers, so they don’t disappear with us.

If you’ve paid for a renewal period that hasn’t finished, we’ll refund the unexpired portion.

Short outages, maintenance and the occasional broken deploy aren’t a wind-down — this clause is about stopping for good.

What we promise, and what we don't

We work hard to keep V3KTR fast, stable and served, and we fix things quickly. But it’s software running on your hardware in your browser: we can’t promise it will be error-free, available without interruption, or that it will do something we haven’t said it does. Beyond the guarantees below, it’s provided as-is.

Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any guarantee, right or remedy you have under the Australian Consumer Law that can’t be excluded. Those rights are automatic and they sit above anything written here. See Refunds for what they mean in practice.

Liability

Where the law lets us limit our liability, we limit it — to resupplying the app or refunding what you paid, at your election where the law gives you that choice. Where the law doesn’t let us limit it, we don’t.

To the extent permitted by law, we’re not liable for indirect or consequential loss — lost profits, lost work, lost time. Keep your own copies of anything you care about; V3KTR is not a backup service and doesn’t claim to be.

Changes to V3KTR and to these terms

V3KTR changes constantly — effects are added, sharpened, occasionally reworked or retired. That’s the product working as intended, and the feed is the record of it.

We may update these terms. Minor changes — clarity, typos, a new third-party service named in Privacy — take effect when posted, and the date at the top changes. For anything material, especially anything that would reduce what an existing licence-holder already paid for, we’ll email account holders and give reasonable notice first. We’re not going to quietly rewrite a deal you’ve already paid for and call your continued use agreement.

The boring but necessary bits

• Governing law. These terms are governed by the laws of the Australian Capital Territory, Australia, and its courts. If you’re a consumer somewhere else, this doesn’t take away the protections of your local law or your right to bring a claim there.
• Severability. If a clause turns out to be unenforceable, the rest still stands.
• Assignment. If V3KTR is ever sold or transferred, these terms and your licence transfer with it, and we’ll tell you. You can’t transfer your licence to someone else without our okay.
• Entire agreement. These terms, plus Privacy and Refunds, are the agreement between us.
• Things outside our control. We’re not liable for failures caused by things genuinely beyond our control — but if the app is gone for good, the wind-down clause above still applies.
